About Ray

Painting Hampton Roads, One Brushstroke at a Time

Ray Miltier is a watercolor and pen-and-ink artist based in Windsor, Virginia. Painting had always been a quiet interest — until a serious accident in 2023 changed his outlook and gave him the reason to pick the brush back up in earnest.

Since then, his work has centered on the landscapes and history of the Hampton Roads area: old farmhouses, quiet shorelines, back roads, and the kind of places that hold a story. Each piece is built up in layers of watercolor and finished with fine pen-and-ink detail.

Today Ray splits his time between original studio paintings and custom commissions for people who want their own piece of that history — or their own home — captured the same way.
